Mr. Gomez is the founder of Brentview Investment Management, LLC. Previously, Mr. Gomez was at Santa Barbara Asset Management where he initially served as a Client Portfolio Advisor and ultimately became the firm’s President in 2015. Prior to joining Santa Barbara, Mr. Gomez was a Relationship Manager with ING Investment Management. At ING, he serviced institutional clients in the Midwest across the Corporate, Foundation/Endowment, Public Fund and Taft-Hartley markets. Preceding this, Mr. Gomez was a Regional Director with Alliance Capital servicing Regional Broker Dealers and Registered Investment Advisers. Prior to this, Mr. Gomez worked with John Nuveen & Company where he was one of the founding members of Nuveen’s managed account group, Nuveen Private Investment Management. Mr. Gomez received a B.A. in Finance and an MBA in Financial Derivatives from Loyola University Chicago.
James R. Boothe, CFA
CIO, Portfolio Manager
Mr. Boothe joined Brentview Investment Management as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager. Previously, Mr. Boothe was at Santa Barbara Asset Management where he was the Chief Investment Officer and creator of the flagship Dividend Growth strategy which began in 2004. Mr. Boothe also served as the sole portfolio manager across the suite of Dividend Growth strategies. Prior to joining Santa Barbara, Mr. Boothe was a Portfolio Manager and an Industrials Analyst at USAA. Preceding this, he worked at San Juan Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst. He has also published a series of institutional research papers on dividend stocks. Mr. Boothe received a B.B.A. from Kent State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola Marymount University. Mr. Boothe holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Mr. Vu joined Brentview Investment Management as Director of Research and Portfolio Manager. Previously, Mr. Vu was at Santa Barbara Asset Management where he was the Director of Research and Equity Research Analyst. Prior to Santa Barbara, Mr. Vu was Vice President and Equity Analyst at Jefferies & Co., following a universe of banks, thrifts, market makers and traders. Preceding this, he worked as a fixed income Quantitative Analyst at Western Asset Management and Transamerica Asset Management. Mr. Vu received a B.S. in Mathematics from California State East Bay and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from UCLA. Mr. Vu holds the CFA Institute Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Mr. Bernier joined Brentview Investment Management as a Research Analyst. Previously, Mr. Bernier was at R.W. Baird where he was an Equities Research Associate. At R.W. Baird Mr. Bernier worked as a generalist on three separate equity strategies which included a dividend growth focused portfolio. Prior to R.W. Baird, Mr. Bernier was a Securities Analyst Intern in the Public Equities Division at the State of Wisconsin Investment Board covering companies in the Consumer Discretionary sector. He started his career as an investment banking analyst at Piper Jaffray in Seattle. Mr. Bernier received his B.A. in Finance from the University of Washington and his M.B.A. in Applied Securities Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Ms. Aragon joined Brentview Investment Management as the outsourced Chief Compliance Officer in July 2019. Previously Ms. Aragon was at Altegris where she served as the CCO for their Broker/Dealer, Registered Investment Advisor, Commodity Pool Operator, and the Altegris KKR Commitments Fund a ‘40 Act registered Interval Fund. Prior to Altegris, Ms. Aragon also served as CCO for Crabel Capital Management, a commodity pool operator. Prior to Crabel, Ms. Aragon served as CCO for FATTOC, LLC, a proprietary high frequency trading firm. Ms. Aragon started her compliance career in 2001 at American Express Financial Advisors, now known as Ameriprise Financial, as the Field Compliance Supervisor for the New Jersey Market Group. Ms. Aragon received her B.A. in Political Science from New York University and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. Ms. Aragon has been a member of the New York Bar in good standing since 1997 and the California Bar since 2011.
